Raphanus sativus

Originally hailing from the Mediterranean, there are written records of ancient Greeks and Romans extolling the virtue of this unassuming plant. The spicy and crunchy root of this annual are now known and loved in different forms around the globe. Radishes  are very quick growing and do best when sown in early spring or later in the summer as generally they do not love heat. It’s important that they are  thinned to allow for the radishes to reach their full size.
